THE RESIDENT ACTION COMMITTEE
The Resident Action Committee plays a critical role in shaping The Community Grocer.
The Resident Action Committee brings together neighbors and local organizations, creating a platform for those who live and work in the neighborhood to direct TCG’s development and operations. The RAC is to steward the vision of TCG, oversee the community space, and encourage open partnership and collaboration with the community. In addition, the committee will create the processes to ensure that this new piece of community infrastructure is truly by, and for community. By leveraging local expertise, TCG ensures that initiatives are rooted in the community’s real needs and knowledge, respecting and uplifting the strengths of community members.

With over 39 years of experience supporting the South Philadelphia community, Resident Action Committee II is our first partner.
They are at the core of our story and will own + operate the kitchen and resource center in the back of our first location.
We are poised to grow together and advance the goals of the community beyond the grocer.
