The Community Cookout

As our team at TCG continues to prepare for the opening of our pilot location, we are excited to announce our first pre-launch event – The Community Cookout!

On August 20th, 2022 at Stinger Square Park in Grays Ferry, TCG and the RAC2 are inviting all members of the community to join us for a day of delicious food and drinks, fun games and crafts, music, a job fair with hiring on the spot, and tables with education and community resources.

The event will last from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, and will be the community's first real taste of TCG. A variety of free samples from TCG’s future menu will be available including smoothies and kebabs.

The Community Cookout, however, is a lot more than just good food. We are incredibly thankful to our community partners that have helped us transform this fun day into one that is also informative and constructive toward our overall goal of serving our communities to live better, healthier lives.

  • Ciocca Subaru and Philaworks will be providing job fair tables where job seekers can speak to a handful of employers with hiring on the spot, regardless of past involvements with the justice system.

  • The Philadelphia Anti-Drug Anti-Violence Network and the Greater Philadelphia Health Action, Inc will have tables set up with educational resources.

  • The Salvation Army will be hosting a school supplies drive at the cookout for students in Grays Ferry.

  • Sharing Excess is providing food donations to make the serving of TCG’s food possible.

  • Philadelphia City Councilman Kenyatta Johnson and Representative Jordan Harris, along with the Philadelphia police department, are also helping sponsor the event.

We are grateful for all their support in making this event happen.

With cornhole, volleyball, spike ball, and more, The Community Cookout is sure to be fun for the whole family! We hope to see you there!
